We have had our slide printer for going on 6 years and have had minimal problems.  It does require good maintenance habits though, as do all slide printers.  We also purchased the PM/service contract on this and the cassette printer when the warranty ran out and I think they are worth the cost since service calls always seem to cost a lot even if it is something minor.
