Maybe, but Leica actually replaced mine within the first year because of all of the problems.

I have had no problem with the Leica IPS.  I'm fastidious about maintenance so perhaps that's the secret to my success.

If you are referring to the IPS slide writer, I would say continue looking it is very unreliable.
