We have used the Genta for Helicobacter. It is a modified Steiner - with Alcian blue at the end - and then Hematoxylin and eosin. It is easy to see H. pylori as well as the morphology. I don't know how it relates to signet ring ca though.

Subject: [Histonet] Genta vs alcian blue
Hello Eveyone,
My pathologist has asked me to find out what is the difference in the alcian blue stain vs the genta stain in assisting in the diagnosis of signet ring cell carcinoma.
Any assistance you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much.
