I seem to recall using a combination of formalin and glycerin with the appropriate removal of the glycerin. I softens the tissue up and may not be the best to work with but might provide enough info for a decent path to diagnose. It is in AFIP green manual. Nick(Rocky) Madary, HT/HTL(ASCP)QIHC
