Knowledge never hurts. Just being forced to pass a test will also force you to understand the procedures and will make you more able to trouble shoot your own work.
On the other hand, even if having this certification does not increase your pay scale, it may be a "plus" in the event you decide to change jobs and apply for a new position.
That "extra certificate" may be what you need to land a better job.
