[Histonet] breast core fixation times

Question ( I know this gets discussed every week, however please humor me.)

On breast tissue specimens the fixation time guidelines we have been using is 6 hours to 48 hours. We have exempted breast core biopsies in the past and stated that the fixation time can be less than 6 hours. I have asked my pathologists if we need to adhere to the 6 hr minimum with breast core biopsies. I also know that new guidelines including time before fixation is also coming soon. Can someone give me the "reader's digest version" of the guidelines on fixation times? Now and starting in Jan. 1, 2011.
