You have assumed that processing is correct, but shrinkage is always caused by too fast dehydration, therefore the processing is not adequate.

Following adequate fixation of predominantly fatty breast tissue, what factors could lead to significant shrinkage of adipose tissue around a fibrous lesion (by ~ 50-80%) ?
