Recently my laboratory received paraffin tissue blocks from Kenya. They were
hand processed, and while sectioning we noticed an unusual chemical smell. I
wondered if anyone could tell me what types of reagents are most often used
for in Kenya for processing. Is ethanol, isopropanol, xylene, etc. used or
even available in Kenya, or what other types of reagents may be used in
place of ethanol, xylene, etc.
Thank you,
