Don't think of it as "the date the slides stop working". It's just the
date the company has set for the termination of their liability. If
there was a problem with the slides prior to that date, the company
would replace them. After that date, they don't have to. But most
likely the slides will be good well beyond that date, assuming they were
stored properly.
