Ed,

We have a 2 year old model of the Precisionary Instrument vibrating microtome that was made specifically for fixed tissues for histology. Back then it was the VF400 model. It is supposed to be able to cut 10 micron thick sections and we have not tested that it has this capability yet. It's design is simple and it is easy to use. It's not as sexy as some of the other Vibratome units, but it seems to work pretty well. One of our researchers has a model they use for live tissue work and they have had great success with it.
