Hi, 
you can use vessel (aorta) or skin (especially of Lupus eryth).
Be aware that it makes a different, if you stain first PAS or first Alcian.

The "better" way is, to make Alcian-PAS, because there's no alteration of
the alcian-staining by oxidation with periodacid.
10 min AB, rinse, start of usual PAS.
