How about Lillie's Nile blue A method? 0.05% dye in 1% sulphuric acid, 20 mins; wash in running water; aqueous mounting medium. See J. Histochem. Cytochem. 4: 377-381 (1956). Anyone can download this paper for free at www.jhc.org.
