You can destained eosin with diluted (1:20) bleach.

I searched the archives and found Gary Gill's method for destaining H&E
slides, and for destaining eosin he calls for 1.5% NH4OH in 70% ethanol....the
problem is, I don't have any NH4OH in the lab.  Is there another way to
fully destain eosin?
