I am with you Hazel.  We cut paraffin and today I am cutting GMA plastic with them.  They are great for us.

We use MX premier microtome blades and order from ThermoFisher.     I do have the accuedge blades but prefer the MX blades.   The accuedge blades just don't seem to be as good as they used to be...my opinion only.

AccuEdge by Sakura Finetek are the best (avail. through VWR) 

Not only have I tried a few other brands, but our former knowledgeable and 
experienced histotech here at UB recommends AccuEdge.
