Hi Karen: I have both microtomes. I use them to cut undecalcified MMA
sections. I like the Leica 2255 the best. I have a friend in our business
that uses to cut paraffin sections and thinks it is the best she has ever
used. I am almost in agreement with her although the Microm is also a
wonderful microtome. My suggestions is to get in touch with the sales rep
for both companies and see if they will let you test the microtomes you are
looking at to use. That way you can get the one that is the best for you.

Subject: [Histonet] Opinions on motorized microtomes wanted
I'm looking to buy a motorized paraffin microtome. I have been looking
to see what is out there, and there seems to be quit a few. I would
like to get feedback from people who have used them. I have a problem
with my shoulder and the continuous motion of using a rotory microtome
is a issue for me.
