I had excellent results with a little concentrated hydrochloric acid. The first rinse could be dumped into a beaker full of sodium carbonate solution and washed down the drain.
My wastewater people are currently happier with my scrubbing the glassware with Erado-Sol from Cambridge Diagnostics. It also works very well.
