I'm a youngster, but I also bought a latin dictionary just for the medical terminology aspect. Good thing I didn't have to take it. It is interesting stuff, but I'm terrible at learning languages.

Latin is also useful in law. (A sponge left in the pelvic cavity is a case of "Res ipsa loquitur.")  Latin also helps in puzzling out articles in Spanish or Portuguese.  Most of all Latin gives access to a great literature that has been rather poorly translated.  No translation of the Aeneid give one any conception of the magnificence of the original.
