There is no oxidizing step in Warthin Starry to prepare fungal walls for silver deposition.  This stain is for spirochetes.  

I suggest you use the Grocotts (Gomori's modification) methenamine silver where chromic acid is used to oxidize the fungal cell walls.  You can find this on the web, or in the Histonet Archives.  It is not difficult to do.
