Hello - my first time on Histonet!!
Our cyto lab picks out any formed clots and spins the rest into a cell block
which is stabilised with plasma and thrombin. Processes and section well.

Subject: [Histonet] Cell block
Hello - For those you who perform cytology cell blocks - if the fluid
(pleural, peritoneal, pericardial) has a "clot" (mucous, tumor or
whatever) do you only submit the clot for cell block or do you also spin
fluid down and add whatever button you may have, after decanting, to the
clot for processing?
Thank you
Anna
