Sadly I am already in a union. Granted it is with the custodians and food service people. I have no idea WHY, by the way... 

Our lab manager is also a nurse, so she knows &%&% about lab stuff. Fortunately she knows she doesn't know and trusts us to know what we are doing, and why we are doing it. So we're pretty much left to our own devices.  (HAHAHA THE FOOLS!...) Keep fighting the power though. Every little breakthrough helps.
