Actually, you don't need to go to all that trouble with xylene and
alcohol. We found out that all you have to do is melt down the block (if
it was embedded), put the tissue on some absorbent paper and press
gently to remove some of the paraffin, than just process again. The
specimen can just go back directly into the processor in formalin. This
has worked fine for us, and the pathologists can't see a difference.
