I'd try soap first, and then glycerin or Nair... j

Subject: [Histonet] cutting of whole mount prostates

Hi Everyone!

We received a whole prostate that is as hard as a rock (sorry guys).
We have to be sure to get high quality sections on these large blocks.
Normally we use an ammonia water type ice bath, but this time it is
just not working.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions that might help us soften this?

Thanks in advance.

Vikki Baker
