[Histonet] Toluidine Blue Staining for BCC in Mohs Lab

Our newly acquired commercial 1%Toluidine Blue Stain is showing very  
pale metachromatic staining surrounding Basal Cell Cancer. I've been  
searching and reading various articles today on this site and others  
and am considering increasing the staining time further and  
dehydrating in the alcohols as quickly as possible before mounting in  
Clearium. Could the alkalinity of the stain be a problem? Any other  
ideas? We are in a small private Mohs lab in a medical clinic and  
basically dependant on commercial preparations.
