I also confirm that fos IHC can be performed on frozen sections after 
fixation-cryoprotection without thermosol. If you really need a 
preservative you can use sodium diazide 
(http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/search/ProductDetail?ProdNo=71289&Brand=FLUKA).
