Janci,
Look in Lee Luna's Histopathologic Methods and Color Atlas of
Special Stains and Tissue Artifacts beginning on page 566 then page 572.
Lee says on page 566 that beef jerky can be used as a Gram +/- control.
On page 566 he give the recipe for making it in the lab. He also
provides instructions for making controls for other special stains. I
find this is an excellent reference book to have. :-)
