Joe,

Our Microbiological/Fungal experts look at scrapings from hairs, skin, nails
etc.  It is almost impossible to orientate hairs to get cuts at full length.
Many years ago I tried and nearly went insane,  and these were in intact
skin.  I achieved about one in two hundred success and even then was only
able to get about 5-6 serial sections from each hair.
