There are new regs on formaldehyde, it is now a KNOWN human carcinogen
according to our H&S consultant, the exposure limits are 2 parts per million
to humans, I would think that pouring it down a drain would expose the
pourer and anyone else in the area to limits higher than that unless your
drain is in a fume hood.  We need some haz. Chemicals experts to chime in
here.

Yeah - nothing.  It's a hazardous chemical.  I don't know of any state 
where local regulations allow formalin in the wastewater.
