[Histonet] Slide flats

Hello everyone,
 
This may be an odd question, but can anyone tell me why cardboard slide  
flats are so expensive?  Fisher sells a case of about 72 slide flats for  about 
$1,000.00!!!!
 
That leads me to my next question.  Are there any suggestions for  getting 
them someplace cheaper (Ebay?).  
 
Does anyone have an accounting system set-up for making sure slide flats  get 
returned to the originating facility?
