Oh MY GOD you're still using choral hydrate - stop this immediately!!!

10% formic acid is IMO the best for bone 5% for BMTs. You will get good
immuno after this as well, provided you fix properly first.

By the way if you use Mayer's haematoxylin the chloral hydrate can be
omitted from that as well. It allegedly acts as a preservative and has no
effect on staining.
