Histotechs;
Mary North, the great gal who replaced me when my Grandfather Clock
read---“Retire----“, tells me that the great Alkaline Buffer once listed
as 221 in the Sigma catalog is now listed as Alkaline Buffer A 9226.
This is the buffer that can replace the old Veronal Buffer usually
listed as a component of ATP-ase and Acid Phosphatase. This old buffer
contains Nembutal, a sodium salt of Pentobarbital, and requires a
controlled substance license to order. 221 gives brilliant results in
those two procedures, rendering the Old Dope Buffer passé.
