We cut 2 levels. Depending on the size of the tissue we put 2 to 3 sections
from each ribbon (level) per slide. The only biopsies that we cut 3 levels
on are: breast mammatome/needle core bx, liver needle core bx, lymph nodes,
prostate needle core bx (just about anything that is a needle core bx) and
any biopsies that the pathologists requests 3 levels be cut.

Subject: [Histonet] levels on biopsies
We have a lot of biopsy samples. We have always cut 3 levels. But,
in an effort to save time and money (supplies), I would like to cut 2
levels. What I want to know is how many levels everyone cuts on their
biopsies? Does anyone just cut 2 levels?
Thanks!
