Annette,
If I remember correctly, CAP only requires a survey when a lab first opens
up, there is a major change in the processing or a reading is close to the
OSHA limits.
I, on the other hand, go a little further. Even though my readings for
formaldehyde was 0.17 PPM for 8 hour TWA and Xylene was 3 PPM for 8 hour TWA
were way below OSHA's limits of 0.75 PPM/formaldehyde and 100 PPM/Xylene, I
test twice a year. Maybe a little excessive, but I have techs who are
childbearing ages and I want them to be assured that I'm doing everything
possible to make the environment safe.
	I purchase my badge monitors from Sensors in Cary NC 1-800-499-7232. If you
get a high reading, they will call you and let you know. After, if you want,
they will send an onsite team to perform a more thorough testing.
