Dear Marnie,
We had the same problem. It turned out to be an easy solution. We were coverslipping from xylene, but the mountant we wre using was toluene base. Toluene evaporates much faster, thus drying out! Switched to xylene base mounting media, and haven't had drying again.
Hope this helps,
Jo

Can anyone please help?
We are haveing a problem with some of our slides. Under the coverslip
tape they are drying out. We have the correct amout on drops comming
out of the coversliper onto the slide and our slides spend enough time
going through alchol and xylene before being coverslipped. We were
wondering if anyone else experienced this problem and what they did to
correct it. We thought is was the coverslipper since it was new, but we
had them exchange it and give us a another new one. Any advice would be
appreciated.
Marnie
