Fred Underwood asks about amniotic fluid embolism methods. We use the one devised by Attwood which another Histonetter alluded to. The reference is Attwood, H.D. Amniotic Fluid Embolism. Journal of Pathology and Bacteriology. pp 213 - 214. 1958. An old method but it still works!
You stain in alcian blue, bleach, stain the nuclei in hematoxylin, counterstain in phloxine and differentiate out the phloxine in tartrazine in cellusolve. It works best if you differentiate one slide at the time.
