[Histonet] Echt means acetate so they should be the same

"Echt" means genuine in everyday German. In technical German, "echt"
means colorfast. The German word for acetate is "essigester." A few
Germans now use the international (Latin) "acetat" for acetate.
Because neither cresyl violet acetate nor cresylechtviolet has been
assigned a C.I. number, they may or may not be the same thing. Most
currently produced cresylechtviolet is the acetate of cresyl violet, and
most currently produced cresyl violet is the acetate rather than the free
base. However, older bottles of cresylechtviolet may contain the
hydrochloride of cresyl violet or trimethyl cresylviolet.
