I suggest you find a cassette that works, a pens seem to be too few and far
between. Maybe people will volunteer their casette information.
Vendors have samples upon request. Too bad manufacturers don't test all
available pens on writing surfaces with processing reagents BEFORE they
market them, getting my 25 cents worth as a suggestion. However, they may
do this and the cassettes are not pressed correctly - a bad lot? Soft
leaded pencils may be the other recourse, although I love my pen markings!
I notice this also happens on some colorfrosted slide surfaces which are a
tidge slick.
We are able to use Secureline and Statmark Pen from Statlab to work on
TissueTek cassettes (VWR) and TissuePath cassettes from Fisher.
Good luck
