Tape is a pane in the glass.

KP Tape!? - been there, done that - it still comes off the same as the other
tape, taking the sections with it!! Most of our slides lose the tape 'slips
in around about two years.

Far better to go with a glass coverslipper. They are a bit slower, but still
faster than hand coverslipping...and glass is for good!!!
