[Histonet] General: formalin & OCT?

I am trying to do IHC for gelatin microparticles that are loaded with a
growth factor.  Can I use formalin to fix them, and then embed them in OCT
for cryosectioning for later IHC?  Better yet...can I use acetone instead of
formalin?  Which will give the best results for the IHC?
