[Histonet] Tetracycline and decalcification

Does anyone know if decalcifying tetracycline-treated bone affects its
fluorescence? Everything I can find on the subject says that they embedded
undecalcified bone in methacrylate, but is this essential? If it is OK to
decalcify, should one use acid or EDTA? Sorry to be so helpless, but this
doesn't seem to have been covered anywhere. Thanks to anyone who can help.
