Yes, for the treatment and insurance coverage.   You cannot use their
specimens for research with approval with your IRB.

I belive the consent package that patients get specifies that certain of
their personal information will be shared with other healthcare
organizations and insurance companies in the course of their diagnosis,
treatment and insurance coverage.  Don't worry about it.
