We use Microm Sliding Microtome, which can be purchased from Richard-Allen Scientific. They have automated and manual versions. They have never given us a problem.

Subject: [Histonet] Sliding microtomes
Our research department is interested in purchasing a sliding microtome for
large sections. Does anyone out there have any suggestions about
manufacturers, vendors, etc.? Thanks
