Vacuum on an open processor is used only during infiltration with molten
wax, it has no other function such as moving fluids which occurs in a closed
type processor. Vacuum infiltration with molten wax dramatically reduces the
time (and number of wax changes) necessary to remove the clearing solvent
and hence reduces the time in hot wax, a good thing.
