The following message is distributed via the UT Southwestern Research Listserv at the request of Susan Partridge, Vice President for Parkland's Office of Research Administration.

August 20, 2015

Dear Research Community,

Attached is a listing of important telephone numbers for research teams. A full directory will be available soon, but we wanted to get these specific numbers to you immediately.

At 6 a.m. Thursday, August 20, the Rees-Jones Trauma Center, Emergency Department, Urgent Care Emergency Department and Labor & Delivery services in the new Parkland Memorial Hospital will open for business at its new location, 5200 Harry Hines Blvd. Simultaneously, the current hospital will stop receiving new emergency patients and those arriving for care via ambulance will be taken to the new location. Parkland staff will continue to care for all patients in these departments at the current facility until the last person is treated.

Access to the Mike A. Myers Sky Bridge will be restricted beginning Thursday, August 20, to accommodate the three-day patient relocation to the new hospital. Once the move is complete, the bridge will be accessible without restrictions. The sky bridge and two of the Parkland G elevators (near the Outpatient Pharmacy) will be designated for the patient move and will have restricted access to avoid disruption to the transition. While the sky bridge is inaccessible, please use the Campus DART (704 and 705) shuttles or travel across Harry Hines Boulevard using the crosswalk at Parkland Boulevard (formerly Lofland Street).

Thank you for your patience during this transition. For research, please observe the following times when requests are on hold:

* New patient enrollment involving IDS services will not be accepted through 8/30/15.

* Requests for retrospective tissue on hold through 8/31/15.

* Fresh tissue requests on hold through 8/24/15.

The Office of Research Administration will have limited staffing during the move. You can reach us at researchdepartmentparkland at phhs.org<mailto:researchdepartmentparkland at phhs.org> or via the main number at (214) 590-1170.

Sincerely,

Susan Partridge, BSN, MBA, CCRC
