I agree with you. Ours seem to short out as well. I now only purchase the baths that have a separate Pyrex glass insert. They also provide more of an "edge" space to lay out your ribbons when cutting multiple levels and ribbons. Cheri

and they always seem to become rusty and we have to purchase new ones.
