We use a product called pro-par, produced by Anatech. We don't use permount
routinely, but a few of our specials require it. We dehydrate and then
clear with the pro-par, and it works fine for those stains. It is much less
harsh on tissue than xylene; we have three VIP's, and our specimens sit in
it for several hours with no negative effects on the tissue or the
processors.
