[Histonet] Re: alternates to absolute ethanol

American Mastertech has a Reagent Grade Ethyl Alcohol which is  
formulated with 95%, 200 proof ethyl alcohol and denatured with 5%  
isopropyl alcohol, NO Methanol!  Cat #ALREACS for 4 Gal.  It costs a  
little more, but well worth it! If you read the fine print on the  
contents of most of your histo and reagent grade alcohols, it is  
mostly denatured with Methanol.

We would use this American Mastertech Reagent  grade for our H&E, IHC  
and Special Stains, stain line.  We also made ALL of our products  
with this grade while I was at Biocare.
