We would cut them in small batches as well and cut them a little thicker than routine cases. Like at 6 microns.

We try not to cut amyloid controls too far in advance - we have had
trouble with old slides and poor staining in the past.

Happy Friday Histonetters,

Can amyloid control slides be cut ahead? Should the block be dipped in
paraffin after each use? Having a bit of trouble with this stain -
have a
new block coming - but want to move forward doing this properly.

Thanks for your help
