[Histonet] Winterize formalin?

When I was in Prince George, BC we used to tell our satellite labs to dilute
the NBF 20% with ethanol . This worked fine for us and below -20C. At
really cold temperatures it turned slushy rather than solid, but we rarely
got ice crystal holes.
I used to live and work in Winnipeg. I was the section head in histology at
the HSC from 67-74. How are things there, now?
