[Histonet] microtome repair
We have a Shandon Finesse 315 microtome in need of repairs. We are
located in Southern California. It is difficult to find anyone to repair
these microtomes, other than Thermo. My hesitancy with Thermo is the
guesstimate that I was given. $200 per hour travel time, mileage, labor
and parts. The estimate is for $1500 to $2000. This is way beyond the
budget of a community college histo program, particularly since this is
the second microtome to have a similar problem. The microtomes are a
little over two years old with minimal usage.
Doe anyone know of a reasonable company that can repair these microtomes?
Thank you,
Jennifer MacDonald
