We use fresh tonsil for +CTRL. We cut a tonsil down into many tiny pieces
and freeze them in OCT. When doing DIF on skin, we will thaw one piece of
tonsil and embed it in the same chuck as the skin specimen so that both
specimens are on the same slide. It has worked very well since we started
doing this. The pathologists love it.
